Title	Remember When...people went to the Aurora?
Description	The Aurora Theater was at 1222 (later 3002 N.) 3rd St. The utility pole on the left in this picture bore both a Chambers St. sign and an election notice. The street surface was paved with bricks. Painted on the right side of the theater building was "The Aurora: The North Side Family Amusement Palace. Best Rated Pictures." The showcard in front advertised: "Today - 'A Spartan Mother" - Don't Miss It!" According to Elaine Wolff, who sent in this picture, the theater was owned and operated by her uncle, Emil Ladwig, who can be seen in the right doorway, wearing a white shirt. While another uncle, Alfred Ladwig, was an usher there, he met his future wife, Irma Brueggmann. She worked in the ticket booth.
