Biography |
Born January 4, 1908 in Milwaukee. Graduated from West Division High and Marquette University. Following graduation from Marquette law school, he joined a Chicago firm and in 1936 returned to become assistant city attorney. He waged a vigorous campaign for mayor and upset incumbent Dan Hoan in 1940. A nominal Republican, Zeidler ran unattached. His support came from from a private following built upon his own personal youth movement and affiliation with 25 local organizations. On April 16, 1942, he left for the service. Became gunnery officer on the LaSalle. This ship was last seen September 26, 1942 leaving Canal Zone. Navy declared him legally dead November 8, 1944. |
