Biography	Born April 11, 1818, in Somerset County, Maine. Came to Milwaukee in 1844. Jeweler, lumberman, ship owner, hotel proprietor, real estate operator, manufacturer, owner of the famous Kirby house. Democrat. Elected mayor in 1864 without opposition. Died September 21, 1893, at the age of 75.
